Nexion Health with Medline Industries, Inc. and HealthStream will access online resources to meet regulatory training requirements across 43 facilities. Nexion Health is a skilled nursing provider serving the Southern region of the country. For long term care operators, HealthStream (healthcare company) offers workforce development and quality improvement programs.
Teams from all 43 of Nexion’s facilities will leverage personalized online education to boost clinical development in the states the nursing home chain operates in, including Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.
As approximately 40% of Nexion’s residents get care for dementia, HealthStream’s platform will offer their team certification training on the physical and mental decline of dementia patients and how to address incontinence in dementia patients.
Meera Riner, Chief Operating Officer at Nexion Health, commented: “Tracking regulatory requirements for employees across multiple states is often very challenging. A comprehensive and customized online education tool also allows us to invest in the future of our staff and enhance employee satisfaction and retention.”
The new tool powered by HealthStream and Medline will support Nexion Health to simplify tracking and compliance across the organization. Also, it will allow Nexion to upload their educational content and perform pre and post-assessments.
Expanding best practices
Medline and HealthStream declared their strategic partnership last year to offer Medline consumers such as Nexion this specialized workforce development tool. The firm has developed more than 40 timely infection prevention courses to boost awareness of hand hygiene and PPE’s best practices.
Shawn Scott, SVP Corporate Sales at Medline Industries, Inc., commented: “Medline is constantly looking for ways to create effective and timely solutions, especially when healthcare is navigating so much uncertainty right now. The alliance with HealthStream is an extension of our ongoing desire to listen closely to customer obstacles so we can together create a smoother path toward enhanced delivery of care.”
